The poster for our debut festival is illustrated by award-winning cartoonist and MAKE co-organiser Reimena Yee.

From the artist:

MAKE’s design philosophy is underpin by three values: inclusivity, community and celebration of the artistic voice. This poster represents the multi-generational, multicultural comics scene in Melbourne and wider Australia, held strong by cartoonists emerging and established, librarians, educators, scholars, publishers and readers. As a recent immigrant from Southeast Asia I was welcomed so openly by the Australian comics scene many years ago, and I owe no small part to my peers for gifting me the dream of calling this country home. I am honoured to give back by making MAKE happen, and do my part in continuining the cycle of generosity that I feel is the real strength of Australian comics.
